Product Description

Casio celebrated the 35th anniversary of the G-Shock in 2018, and to mark the occasion, they created a variety of special 35th-anniversary edition watches. The Casio G-Shock 35th Anniversary Origin Gold DW5735D1B, which was part of a larger Origin Gold Collection that was unveiled for the anniversary, was one of the many watches to come out during this time period.

On the surface, this watch may have looked like little more than a retro-inspired timepiece meant to showcase the appearance of one of the earliest G-Shocks ever released. But this watch was actually the first screw-back DW-5700 watch introduced by Casio since the company put out a series of 25th-anniversary watches. To make it a screw-back watch, Casio had to create its case out of stainless steel as opposed to resin, which makes it an even higher-quality and more durable watch than people anticipated.

This attention to detail was what our experts appreciated most about this watch. It turned its release into a true celebration and helped cement the long legacy of this particular G-Shock model. The Casio G-Shock 35th Anniversary Origin Gold DW5735D1B was released in May 2018 and initially retailed for $200.
