First released in 1972, the Nike Cortez changed the world of running shoes. Designed by legendary coach Bill Bowerman, it's still a key part of Nike's stable. See More
The Nike Cortez has a long history of excellence. Designed by an Olympic track coach, this shoe changed the way the world ran. In addition to being functional, this is also a shoe with a great pop-culture history. The white-and-red shoe Forrest Gump wore on the big screen was a Nike Cortez, for example. Though today, the Cortez isn't the highest-performance running shoe available, it remains one of the most stylish and will forever be regarded as timeless streetwear. Recent Cortez releases include a "Stranger Things" shoe in Sail and Navy, which is unique for the near-monochromatic look, with the Swoosh and upper in the same color. A two-tone version is the Independence Day Pack, in a Red and White colorway. The Nike Cortez is available in versions with both nylon and leather uppers. There are nearly infinite colorways to choose from. Bold, fresh colors like fuchsia are well-represented in the Cortez lineup. Classic, neutral black-and-white combinations are also available.
