Kobe Bryant created his signature Nike shoes in close partnership with Eric Avar. Some, like the Kobe 4 and the Kobe 9, were lightyears ahead of their time. See More
Kobe Bryant is one of the most accomplished basketball players of all time, and his signature shoes show it. The Nike Kobe line included many innovative styles like the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 and 5. Bryant was one of the first players to take basketball shoes light and low. A big fan of soccer, he saw lots of similarities between his movement style on the court and that of soccer players on the pitch. He figured if low-cut, lightweight shoes worked for them, they'd serve him well, too. He was right. Of course, he shifted to the ultra-high 9 to try and get an advantage, too, after suffering a torn achilles. That kind of commitment to innovation has always set Kobe's shoes apart. Today, many of his classics are still being adapted. These include the Kobe 4 Protro Undefeated in Fir/Multi-Color and Purple/University Gold-White. Bold, bright shoes like the Nike Mamba Rage Grinch are also favorites with street style fans as are the Kobe 11s.
