Takashi Murakami Strange Pinky Melting DOB PVC Figure

Product Description

The Takashi Murakami Strange Pinky Melting DOB PVC Figure presents the artist’s recurring DOB character in a distorted, melting form. The sculptural treatment gives the familiar character a more fluid silhouette, turning its exaggerated features into the focus of the piece. Its Strange Pinky color treatment adds another identity within Murakami’s broader character-based work, making the figure distinctive within a collectible display.

The painted cast-vinyl construction sits on a metallic disc base. The sculpture measures approximately 25.3 centimeters high, 31.5 centimeters wide, and 18.1 centimeters deep, giving it a broad profile suited to viewing from several angles. The painted surface and shaped contours translate the character into a three-dimensional object, with the base providing a defined presentation beneath the melting form.

For collectors, the appeal lies in DOB’s transformation and the combination of character design with sculptural presentation. Displaying the figure with space around it allows the contours and painted details to remain visible beyond a single front-facing view. Released on November 20, 2021, the Takashi Murakami Strange Pinky Melting DOB PVC Figure retailed for $2230.
