The Jordan 1 Mid SE Exploration Unit was part of a special space-themed collection that Jordan Brand put together called "Exploration Unit." It appeared alongside Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low and Jordan Legacy 312 models that took on a similar galactic theme.

Each of the sneakers in this collection, including the Jordan 1 Mid, was done up in spacy colors, such as beta blue and light smoke. The Jordan 1 Mid also came with details exclusive to the "Exploration Unit" collection, like the words "JORDAN EXPLORATION UNIT 20XX" and the coordinates "45°30’38.0"N 122°49’52.0"W" for Nike’s headquarters on the tongues. It came with gridline graphics on the heels as well that were designed to make the sneaker look more futuristic.

What we loved most about this sneaker, though, was that its overall design helped elevate the Air Jordan 1 profile and make it look dramatically different than the AJ1 did when it was first released almost 40 years ago. The Air Jordan 1 Mid SE Exploration Unit was released on October 2, 2022 for a retail price of $125.
