The ASICS Gel-NYC Oatmeal Obsidian Gray is a technical running shoe that finds inspiration in heritage models from the ASICS catalog.

The upper is made of breathable mesh in Oatmeal and has a construction that resembles the GEL-NIMBUS 3, a technical sneaker from the early 2000s. Featuring crisscrossing overlays on the side panels, the upper also takes cues from the MC-PLUS V. Dark suede panels in Obsidian Gray form mudguards and eyelets that contribute to the sneaker’s retro aesthetic. However, the gel and foam midsole add a contemporary element. This midsole is similar to the one installed on the GEL-CUMULUS 16 and provides more responsive cushioning than its predecessors.
