Engineered Garments is a New York-based clothing brand, founded by Japanese fashion industry veteran Daiki Suzuki in 1999. Suzuki’s fashion industry experience began with Japanese retailer Nepenthes, which was founded in 1988. Prior to Engineered Garments, Suzuki worked alongside fellow Japanese fashion industry vet Keizo Shimizu as a buyer at Nepenthes. The two imported products to Japan that were made in the USA, introducing under the radar brands to the Japanese market.
Daiki Suzuki’s experience buying for Nepenthes informed his aim with Engineered Garments, his mission post-buying. Engineered Garments endeavors for its wearers to personalize their garments further via the experiences gained while wearing them, and the garments are underlined by attention to function.
