Hellstar

American streetwear brand Hellstar was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 2020. Founders Joseph Pendleton and Sean Holland imbued the brand with symbolism, choosing a name that alludes to the notion of finding the bright amongst the dark moments and their religious backgrounds.

With the founding ethos underlining the purpose of Hellstar, the brand is known for its screen-printed imagery. Illustrations that may at first seem dark extol positive messages. Hellstar’s clothing artwork hits on a range of illustration styles, with bold, unexpected messaging and imagery as through lines. Styles like the Hellstar Online T-Shirt adopt a Y2K realism style that poses the tongue-in-cheek question, “has your progress been saved?" while the reverse transfers to a black, white, and bubblegum pink iteration of early 2000s internet iconography. Other signature tees, like the Hellstar Rasta Skull Tye-Dye T-Shirt, display Hellstar’s ability to blend striking imagery with ingenious placement on a stylized tie-dyed t-shirt canvas.

Beyond their prowess at screen printed apparel, Hellstar is known for its original clothing designs. Denim shorts, cargo shorts, sweatpants, and hats are just some of the categories that Hellstar has tackled. The Studded Cargo Shorts display another example of Hellstar’s skill at blending patterns and styles. Casual items like shorts and sweatpants have transcended into fashion and statement pieces, thanks to the innovation of streetwear brands like Hellstar, Fear of God Essentials, and Sp5der, and now it is easier than ever to seek the most coveted styles.
