Lakai

Lakai has been designing athletic footwear since 1999. Its shoes come in numerous styles, including low-tops, high-tops and slip-on sneakers. Its design collection features fun color choices such as pink, lavender, blue, orange, and yellow. This American shoe brand was started by two professional skateboarders, Mike Carroll and Rick Howard. Therefore, its collection is inspired by skater fashions. In 2024, Lakai was taken over by Inversal, an e-commerce company. The headquarters for the label are in Torrance, California, which is close to Los Angeles.

All Lakai shoes are marked with the flare logo, which is designed to be reminiscent of a flame. Along with bright colors, these shoes are made of premium suede, leather, and canvas for protection and durability. Further, the brand offers shoes with cool words and images, making them great for streetwear. One example is its Lakai Riley 3 Black Sabbath, featuring stylish graphics and prints. Famous personalities and stars, like the hip-hop group Public Enemy, as well as clothing brands like FTP, have lent their names and design ideas to the brand.

Popular skateboarders like Tony Hawk and Jimmy Wilkins have also contributed to Lakai’s shoe collection. Consequently, skaters can expect superior control and easy movement when wearing Lakai on skateboards. Similarly, DC Shoes designs have also been inspired by skateboard icons like Josh Kalis and John Shanahan, so you can mix up your look without sacrificing your ride.
