Belt Bag

Some evidence suggests the modern-day waist bag, which is also sometimes referred to as a fanny pack or bumbag, may have made its first appearance about 5,000 years ago. When a mummified man named Ötzi was discovered in the Ötzal Alps situated between Austria and Germany in the early 1990s, he appeared to be wearing a primitive version of a waist bag. Researchers believe he died sometime between 3400 and 3100 BC, which could conceivably make fanny packs one of the oldest fashion accessories ever.

It’s safe to say that today’s waist bags do not look like the types of bags worn back in Ötzi’s time, though. Quite a few luxury brands have started to manufacture high-end fanny packs that are more fashionable than functional. Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Burberry, and OFF-WHITE are just a few of the brands making them these days. You should be able to find at least one waist bag from your favorite designer brand.

Another thing that sets today’s waist bags apart from those put out in the past is that they’re available in a wide range of styles and colors. The all-black Prada Waist Bag is on the simpler side and will blend with almost any outfit you put on, while this Louis Vuitton LVXLOL Bumbag has a design that’ll make it impossible to miss no matter which outfit you might wear with it.

Whether you’d like a basic waist bag that you can wear with just about anything or something that’ll steal the show when you wear it around your waist, you’ll find that there won’t be any shortage of options when you shop for one through StockX. Check out the waist bags you can buy below.
