The Jordan 5 Retro Doernbecher is a special edition of the Jordan 5 released as part of the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection which features sneakers designed by young patients of the Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

The shoe has a predominantly black upper made from patent leather and features tonal lettering that can be seen under a black light. It retains most of the signature design elements of the AJ 5 including the mesh paneling on the sides and shark teeth detailing on the midsole. It also has a padded collar for ankle support and a visible air unit to provide cushioning.

Our experts especially love the tonal lettering all over the upper which is a poem written by the late Isaac Azarte, who was the young patient behind the incredible design of the shoe. The shoe also has Isaac’s initials, birthdate, and jersey numbers as a special tribute. The Jordan 5 Retro Doernbecher was released on 14th September 2013 retailing at $180.
