Nike introduced the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next% running sneaker in 2020 shortly after marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge helped show it off at the Vienna City Marathon in 2019. The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next% Watermelon (Women's) was one of the first pairs created solely in women’s sizes.

To create the upper for this Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next%, Nike came up with a new Flyknit fabric called AtomKnit that is both steamed and stretched before it’s put in place to make this sneaker extremely lightweight and breathable. Nike also used a combination of eye-catching colors, including white, black, and red, to make the sneaker stand out.
