The Nike Cortez 72 Blue Ribbon Sports commemorates Nike’s humble beginnings when the company was a shoe distribution venture named Blue Ribbon.

The Nike Cortez 72 features a white leather upper, preserving the OG silhouette. It is offset by pale ivory suede overlays on the vamp and the eyestays featuring punched eyelets. Beneath the white laces is a white-padded tongue with an orange Swoosh and "Nike" branding on its tag. The quarter panels are uncluttered white walls in white leather with a retro Swoosh in black on the lateral side. The medial has a pale ivory suede motif. On the rear, the heel returns the suede overlay with an embossed logo on the counter. Extra detailing includes an imprinted "1 of 3107" on the heel tab, reminiscing Nike’s first address.
