The Reebok Kamikaze II "Houston All Star" released in February of 2013 as a part of Reebok’s "Then and Now" pack. While the Kamikaze II originally released as Shawn Kemp’s signature shoe back in 1995, the model made its first retro appearance 18 years later in 2013 in a big way. With the 2013 NBA All Star Game being hosted by the city of Houston, Texas, the traditional red and yellow was used as inspiration for this Kamikaze II colorway. The colorway features an all red nubuck upper with the unmistakable wavy zig-zag overlay done in a gold, color changing foil-like finish. The inner lining and midsole accent was then finished off in yellow to make this H-town proud Kamikaze colorway feel like the Reign Man himself was originally a part of the Rockets. The Houston inspired colorway was well received and could be seen on celebs like Bow Wow and Chris Brown but will be most remembered for being worn by Gerald Green in NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The Houston All Star Reebok Kamikaze II of course released over All Star Weekend and as well as a handful of other colorways.
