The Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 Minted NY is the third collaborative release between New York-based running and lifestyle brand Minted NY and Saucony, and the first time the partnership has worked on Saucony's elite race-day super shoe, bringing Minted's distinctly aesthetic-forward design approach to the most technically advanced running shoe in the Saucony lineup. Minted NY, founded in 2021 by brothers Marcus and Shawn Milione during the pandemic running boom that saw a new generation of runners build communities and brands around the sport, developed into one of the most credible and most design-conscious names in the running space through a build-in-public brand philosophy and a series of collaborations that understood both performance and cultural relevance simultaneously. The Endorphin Pro 5 itself is Saucony's premier marathon race-day shoe, featuring PWRRUN PB and PWRRUN HG dual-density cushioning, a full carbon fiber plate redesigned from version 4's spoon shape to a fork configuration for improved flex and propulsion, a PWRTRAC rubber outsole for grip, and a zig-zag mesh upper for enhanced ventilation and contained fit. Minted NY's contribution to the Pro 5 is conceptually specific and visually arresting: the shoe is covered from toe to heel in a chrome silver finish inspired by the mylar thermal blankets that marathon organizers give to finishers after long-distance races to prevent hypothermia, a material so associated with the post-race moment of physical and emotional exhaustion and relief that coating the shoe in chrome silver transforms the Pro 5 into a wearable tribute to the marathon finish line.
